In 1952, J. C. Jones purchased his first small grocery store in Folkston, Georgia. During the 1960's, the business expanded to multiple stores in Southeastern, Georgia. A small wholesale grocery distribution center located in Alma, Georgia, was acquired to supply the stores, and by the mid 1970's, there were 25 stores known in local communities as Flash Foods. The small chain of stores grew even more in the 1980's after the acquisition of 48 Kwickie Food Stores. This time period also included the purchase of Frazier Oil, which later merged with Fuel South, and served as a fuel distributor. J. C. Jones passed down the business to his sons in the mid 90's and the business continued to grow and prosper. Through the leadership of James C. Jones, III and Patrick C. Jones over the last 20 years, Flash Foods has become an industry leader, establishing a loyalty program, proprietary retail pricing platform, and a robust item level inventory management system. Flash Foods remained family owned until February 2016. Today, we are proud to be part of CST Brands, one of the largest independent retailers in North America.
